Developer | Speaker | Coach | Consultant
Tobias Modig

I’ve been coding professionally since the ’90s, and these days I split my time between building software, coaching the people who build it, and speaking about it on stages across Europe.
Based in the Stockholm area, I’m happiest when a role lets me combine hands-on coding with helping other developers grow. I do this as a developer, system architect, tech lead, or coach, depending on what a team needs.
Building software and helping the people who build it grow are the same job to me. I care about a positive, humane engineering culture, and about developers sharing what they know rather than keeping it to themselves. I’d rather ship something a little slower and correct than something fast and full of corners cut under pressure — because cutting corners always catches up with you.
I’ve spoken at 100+ events in 10+ countries — including Devoxx, JFokus, Øredev, and NDC — on topics like software development practices, mob programming, code quality, Agile ways of working, technical coaching, and the everyday life of a developer, usually with a healthy dose of anecdotes and self-deprecating humour.
I’m also a partner at Citerus, a consultancy I’ve been part of since 2014, today as co-owner and board member.
